organic culinary school and bed and breakfast

Meadow View Organic Culinary School and Bed and Breakfast, Bishop Sutton, Bath and North East Somerset, England.

bed and breakfast

We are pleased to offer two modern, stylish and comfortable double-bedded guest rooms within our calm, quiet, welcoming bed and breakfast.

Providing tasteful and informal accommodation in a peaceful village, this is the perfect place to unwind.

Our bed and breakfast is within easy travelling distance of the beautiful World Heritage City of Bath, Bristol, Frome and Wells, and the pretty North Somerset Coast, with beautiful country walks and cycle routes accessed right from our front door. We're also fortunate enough to be in the Mendip Hills - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Our first double-bedded guest room has a picturesque view across our meadow, gardens and fruit orchard, out toward the Chew Valley. This room is fully en-suite with a large double shower.

Our second double-bedded guest room overlooks gardens, and has exclusive use of a separate large bathroom with shower and full length bath.

Pressurised, filtered, hot water means you can enjoy a deep leisurely soak or a refreshing powerful shower any time of the day.

Both rooms are located along a separate corridor off the main first-floor landing, and are sympathetically decorated using ecologically friendly paint.

Room amenities include: full high-definition LCD television with freeview and DVD/CD player; FM/DAB/DAB+ radio with dual alarm; high-speed secure fibre optic mesh WiFi; integrated USB charging for devices; fairtrade and organic cotton/linen bathrobes; electric shaver/toothbrush power points; heated towel rails; high thread-count fairtrade and organic cotton bedsheets; wonderful traditional bed linens made from premium quality long fibre French flax; deep-pile organic and fairtrade cotton towels; Baavet® organic British wool duvets and naturally hypoallergenic pillows.

We have a wide selection of books, games, and DVDs for our guests enjoyment.

Our breakfasts are prepared from the freshest seasonal produce of known provenance, avoiding questionable additives. Sourced from as close to home as quality allows.

If we can make food from scratch, we will ...

Our own delicious pressed crisp apple juice (when we've had a good crop); Hallstein mineral water; handmade organic sourdough and gluten-free bread; fantastic hand-roasted single-estate coffee; finest quality single-estate organic teas; deep rich hot chocolate; organic free-range eggs; local handmade organic gluten-free sausages and organic bacon; a2 beta-casein rich organic unhomogenised Jersey whole milk, yoghurt and organic butter; organic and fairtrade fresh fruit; organic mushrooms, tomatoes and herbs; and wholegrain organic and gluten-free cereals.

We also make our own jams, marmalade and preserves (using fruit we grow) and handmade Viennoiserie.

All of our tap water is automatically in-line filtered and pressurised.

In the gardens at Meadow View we grow our own selection of: herbs; blackberries; blackcurrants; blueberries; cherries; cob nuts; damsons; figs; loganberries; plums; raspberries; five types of English apples (including ‘Blenheim Orange’ and ‘Katy’) and have an established walnut tree.

We use this great produce in our Culinary School as well as for our Bed and Breakfast guests.

We have ample private, off-street secure parking and bicycle storage, and we are able to charge electric vehicles.

Garment laundry/drying service is available. A steam iron and ironing board means that you can always look your best.

We have a stock of adapters, leads and chargers (including international ones), in case of need.
